(In-Person-AU) Long-Term Private Course

Class Descriptions

The full Private Course is a shorter term of the Mentorship Program, based on the GOAL chosen by the students. At the end of the class, students can design and layout to create a full certificate of proficiency, design a certificate of merit, a booklet of various styles, or create their script style. Terms consist of three-part, First term will focus on the basic development, and understanding of tools/materials, movements, and strokes of pointed pen Calligraphy with a brief introduction to broad-edge calligraphy and its connection with a pointed pen. The second term will focus on combining the letterform and uppercase alphabet of English. Roundhand. The third term will focus on your choice of Learning to create variation and flourishing. I will teach until you can do it or create a style you want or reach your goal, regardless of the session mentioned. Range of SESSION's DURATION: Approximately 60 - 80 hours (2-3 hours each) Following the student's pace, at least two hours per session (can be weekly or fortnightly). In First term we will learn: - Basic proper writing and sitting position, - Inks, Paper & Nibs differences, - Evolvement in Roundhand style, - Techniques in Writing style, - Basic strokes & exercise - Lowercase Letterform - Lowercase Letter combination in writing (How to create writing style) NOTES: There is a preliminary assignment. You will need to send me a sample of your work/practices/exemplar with your writing analysis before the class starts (not for judgment, but to help me tailor your curriculum). YOU WILL GET THE FOLLOWING: - Total of up to 3 hours of meeting in-person per session - Follow student's pace of study - Session can be divided into small meeting sessions for 1-2 hours each. - Unlimited access to visit the studio (with an Appointment with Martha) - Tailored handout, homework & additional details. - Unlimited Feedback & Guidance after the class is finished.
