A two-session online class exploring colour bias, gouache mixing, value, harmony, and how the tone of gold shapes palette decisions in manuscript work. Simple gilding is included. What we will cover? - Colour bias and how it can affect watercolour or gouache mixing. - Warm and cool tendencies within all colours. - Light, value, and colour relationships. - How gold changes the feeling of surrounding colours. - Choosing palettes that support the gold. - Building more harmonious manuscript colour decisions. Simple gilding techniques in combination with the painting techniques and choosing colours.

By registering for this online group class, you agree that your place is confirmed only after payment is completed. Class recordings, replays, handouts, demonstrations, images, and written materials are for the registered student’s personal study only. They may not be recorded, copied, shared, uploaded, distributed, resold, or taught from without written permission from Martha Scribes. Students may not record the live class or replay. Replay access is included for 90 days and is for registered students only. This is a group class. Individual critique, private feedback, and certificate assessment are not included unless stated separately. Class fees are non-refundable once registration is confirmed, unless Martha Scribes cancels the class.
